A return to Peru after ten years
McCartney had previously played the Estadio Nacional on 25 April 2014 during the Out There Tour. The official 2024 announcement described the new engagement as his third performance in Peru and second visit to this stadium.
The Lima concert followed Córdoba on 23 October, after earlier dates in Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Brazil. Bogotá was next on 1 November, before Costa Rica and Mexico and the later European concerts.
The official tour diary’s Peru section described more than 50,000 fans gathering at the Estadio Nacional. That account captures the scale of the return after a decade away.
Now and Then joins the live story
Now and Then appeared between Here Today and New. Its place in the set connected the 2024 performance with the Beatles recording released in 2023, while the surrounding songs moved between McCartney’s tribute to John Lennon and his later solo work.
The official Now and Then announcement describes a song written and sung by Lennon, developed with contributions from McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, and finally completed by Paul and Ringo.
In Lima, the wider concert still ranged far beyond a single era. In Spite of All the Danger reached back to the Quarrymen, while Come On to Me and New represented later solo recordings. Beatles and Wings songs formed the connecting thread across that span.
McCartney’s band and horn section
The core touring band was joined by three horn players, giving the stadium arrangements additional saxophone, trumpet and trombone parts.
