1963

• The Beatles live: Winter Gardens, Margate – 12 July 1963
  The fifth of six consecutive nights at the Winter Gardens, Margate — two houses per night. The same day as the UK release of the Twist And Shout EP.

1964

• The Beatles live: Hippodrome, Brighton – 12 July 1964
  The first of five consecutive Sunday seaside concerts. George Harrison was involved in a minor car accident on the way to the venue. Jimmie Nicol and The Fourmost also on the bill.

1966

• The Beatles receive three Ivor Novello awards – 12 July 1966
  'Yesterday' (Most Outstanding Song), 'We Can Work It Out' (Top-Selling Single 1965), and 'Help!' (Second Best-Selling Single 1965).

1968

• Recording, mixing: Don't Pass Me By, Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da, Revolution – 12 July 1968
  Two sessions at Abbey Road: Ringo's 'Don't Pass Me By' completed with session violinist Jack Fallon; midnight session for Revolution overdubs. All for the White Album.

1971

• Recording: Erection by John Lennon and Yoko Ono – 12 July 1971
  Experimental session with Fluxus artist Joe Jones at the Record Plant, New York. Three recordings used in the soundtrack of their 1971 film Erection.

1972

• Wings live: Théâtre de la Mer, Juan-les-Pins – 12 July 1972
  Second night of the Wings Over Europe Tour — McCartney's first European concerts since 1966. Denny Laine met future wife Jo Jo Patrie backstage.

1973

• Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr meet in London – 12 July 1973
  Meeting at Apple HQ to discuss the Beatles' partnership and Allen Klein's lawsuit. Harrison's remark inspired McCartney to write 'Band On The Run'.

1974

• Mixing: You Can't Catch Me by John Lennon – 12 July 1974
  Mixes created at the Record Plant, New York, for the Rock 'N' Roll album. The final mix used on the album was made on 9 October 1974.
• Paul and Linda McCartney have dinner with Chet Atkins – 12 July 1974
  Dinner in Nashville led to the recording of Jim McCartney's 'Walking In The Park With Eloise' and inspired the Wings song 'Spirits Of Ancient Egypt'.

1978

• Recording: Winter Rose, Love Awake by Wings – 12 July 1978
  Basic tracks recorded at the Spirit of Ranachan Studio, Campbeltown, Scotland, for the Back To The Egg album.

1992

• Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band live: Unterfrankenhalle, Aschaffenburg – 12 July 1992
  29th show of the 62-date 1992 tour. The second All-Starr Band featuring Joe Walsh, Todd Rundgren, Nils Lofgren, Dave Edmunds, Timothy B Schmit, Burton Cummings, Tim Cappello, and Zak Starkey.

2006

• Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band live: North Fork Theatre, Jericho – 12 July 2006
  19th show of the 25-date 2006 tour. The ninth All-Starr Band featuring Billy Squier, Richard Marx, Edgar Winter, Rod Argent, Hamish Stuart, and Sheila E.

2008

• George Martin honoured by the Grammy Foundation – 12 July 2008
  Career award presented at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, with performances from Burt Bacharach, Jeff Beck, and Tom Jones. Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison in attendance.
• Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band live: Soaring Eagle Casino, Mount Pleasant – 12 July 2008
  16th show of the 29-date 2008 tour. The tenth All-Starr Band featuring Billy Squier, Colin Hay, Hamish Stuart, Gary Wright, Edgar Winter, and Gregg Bissonette.

2011

  19th show of the Out There Tour. 39,515 fans. 38-song setlist including 'Junior's Farm', 'Another Day', and 'Helter Skelter'.

2014
