10 April 1962 – Stuart Sutcliffe Dies in Hamburg

On Tuesday 10 April 1962, Stuart Sutcliffe, the original Beatles bassist and gifted artist, died in Hamburg at the age of 21. He collapsed from a brain haemorrhage and died in the arms of his fiancée Astrid Kirchherr on the way to hospital.
