McCartney III Imagined, a collection of remixes and cover versions inspired by Paul McCartney's 2020 album McCartney III, was released on 16 April 2021. The project reinterprets the original self-recorded album through contributions from a range of contemporary artists.
The album was first announced on 11 March 2021 and initially released digitally, with a physical edition following on 23 July 2021.
As with McCartney III, multiple vinyl variants were issued, including a limited splatter vinyl edition sold exclusively via McCartney's official store, restricted to 3,500 copies in the US and featuring modified cover artwork.
Additional editions featured artwork by Ed Ruscha and included standard black vinyl, Spotify translucent light green, Newbury Comics red, Target silver, and a gold independent/HMV edition.
