15 April 1961 – The Beatles at the Top Ten Club, Hamburg

The Beatles performed their 15th night of their legendary Top Ten Club residency — part of a 92-night, 503-hour engagement. Owner Peter Eckhorn paid each member 35 Deutsche Marks per day for sets running up to 8 hours on weekends.

15 April 1962 – The Beatles at the Star-Club, Hamburg

The Beatles performed their third night at the Star-Club — the start of a 48-night residency at the newly opened venue on Große Freiheit 39. This was their third major Hamburg residency, following the Indra, Kaiserkeller, and Top Ten Club.

15 April 1963 – The Beatles live at the Bridge Hotel, Tenbury Wells

The Beatles performed at the Riverside Dancing Club inside the Bridge Hotel, Tenbury Wells — their only appearance in the small Worcestershire market town. Manager Brian Epstein insisted on honouring all previously booked engagements despite the early surge of Beatlemania.

Paul McCartney made his first solo television appearance — without the other Beatles — on the BBC programme A Degree Of Frost, interviewed by David Frost at BBC Television Centre. Broadcast on 18 May 1964.

15 April 1971 – The Beatles win the Academy Award for Let It Be

The Beatles were awarded the Academy Award for Best Original Song Score for the film Let It Be at the 43rd Academy Awards, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Los Angeles. The award was accepted by Quincy Jones on their behalf.
