The Wings Over the World Tour
The Wings Over the World Tour ran from 9 September 1975 to 21 October 1976, covering 65 dates across the United Kingdom, Australia, Europe, and North America. It was the most ambitious and successful rock tour of the decade — the first time a former Beatle had toured at stadium scale — and it established Wings as one of the premier live acts in the world.
The North American leg ran from 3 May to 23 June 1976. By the time Wings reached Seattle on 10 June, they had already played 50 shows on the tour, including two nights at Madison Square Garden, three nights at Chicago Stadium, and two nights at the Spectrum in Philadelphia.
The Kingdome, Seattle
The Kingdome — officially the King County Domed Stadium — was a multi-purpose domed stadium in Seattle, opened in March 1976, just three months before Wings performed there. It was one of the largest indoor venues in the United States, with a capacity of approximately 64,000 for concerts. The Kingdome was demolished by controlled implosion on 26 March 2000 and replaced by Safeco Field (now T-Mobile Park) and Lumen Field.
