Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band live: Uncas Pavilion, Uncasville – 20 May 2000

Saturday 20 May 2000 | Live, Ringo Starr
Uncas Pavilion, Uncasville, Connecticut, USA

Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band performed at the Uncas Pavilion in Uncasville, Connecticut on 20 May 2000 — the seventh show of the sixth All-Starr Band's 32-date North American tour, and the second of two consecutive nights at the venue. Ringo returned to the Uncas Pavilion on 2 August 2001.

The Uncas Pavilion

The Uncas Pavilion was an outdoor amphitheatre at the Mohegan Sun casino resort in Uncasville, Connecticut — operated by the Mohegan Tribe on their tribal land along the Thames River. The Mohegan Sun complex, which opened in 1996, became one of the largest casino resorts in the United States and a significant live music venue in the north-east. The pavilion took its name from Uncas, the 17th-century sachem (chief) of the Mohegan people, who is also the inspiration for the character in James Fenimore Cooper's novel The Last of the Mohicans (1826).

The Sixth All-Starr Band

The 2000 line-up brought back several veterans of previous All-Starr tours alongside new additions:

  • Ringo Starr — vocals, drums, percussion
  • Dave Edmunds — vocals, guitar. Welsh rock and roll revivalist, producer, and guitarist; known for 'I Hear You Knocking' (1970, UK number one), 'Girls Talk' (written by Elvis Costello), and his work with Rockpile. Also a noted record producer, working with the Stray Cats and others.
  • Jack Bruce — vocals, bass guitar, keyboards. Co-founder of Cream; returning from the 1997 All-Starr Band. Writer of 'White Room', 'Sunshine Of Your Love', and 'I Feel Free'.
  • Eric Carmen — vocals, keyboards, guitar, bass guitar. Former lead singer of The Raspberries; known for 'All By Myself' (1975) and 'Hungry Eyes' (1987, from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack).
