Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band performed at the Freilichtbühne in Stuttgart, Germany on 12 August 1998 — the fourth show of the fourth All-Starr Band’s European tour, which ran for 18 dates in August and September 1998.

“So far we have played Helsinki, Finland; Zofingen, Switzerland; Skanderborg, Denmark and Stuttgart and Chemnitz, Germany. It’s been a lot of fun so far and the group are great to travel with being as we are a heady mix of Yanks and Brits. (I of course am the token Scot.)

The weather – wow I’m sounding like a holiday postcard from the edge – has ranged from cold (50 in Finland) to searing (high 90’s in Stuttgart) but the audiences have been unfailingly warm and appreciative.”

Simon Kirke — vocals, drums

Peter Frampton was the British guitarist and singer-songwriter best known for the live album Frampton Comes Alive! (1976), one of the best-selling live albums in history. His hits included ‘Show Me The Way’, ‘Baby, I Love Your Way’ and ‘Do You Feel Like We Do’.

Jack Bruce (1943–2014) was the Scottish bassist, vocalist and songwriter of Cream, the supergroup he formed with Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker in 1966. Cream’s hits included ‘Sunshine Of Your Love’, ‘White Room’ and ‘I Feel Free’. Bruce was widely regarded as one of the most influential bass players in rock history. He died in October 2014.

Gary Brooker (1945–2022) was the pianist, vocalist and co-founder of Procol Harum, best known for ‘A Whiter Shade Of Pale’ (1967) — one of the best-selling singles in history. He died in February 2022.

Simon Kirke was the drummer of Free and Bad Company, known for ‘All Right Now’ and ‘Shooting Star’.
