On 7 August 1995, Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band performed at the Chastain Park Amphitheater in Atlanta, Georgia. It was the 38th show of the third All-Starr Band’s tour, a 50-date run across Japan and North America that ran from June to August 1995.

Ringo had previously performed at Chastain Park on 7 June 1992, and would return there on 16 May 1997, 4 June 2000, 13 August 2001, 13 August 2003 and 10 July 2010 — making it one of the most frequently visited venues in his touring history.

The Third All-Starr Band

The 1995 All-Starr Band was a particularly star-studded line-up, featuring members of The Who, Grand Funk Railroad, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, The Rascals and more:

  • Ringo Starr — vocals, drums, percussion, piano
  • Randy Bachman — guitar, vocals
  • Mark Farner — guitar, harmonica, vocals
  • Billy Preston — keyboards, vocals
  • Felix Cavaliere — organ, keyboard, maracas, vocals
  • John Entwistle — bass guitar, vocals
  • Mark Rivera — saxophone, percussion, tambourine, cowbell, guitar, vocals
  • Zak Starkey — drums

The inclusion of John Entwistle (The Who’s bassist) and Billy Preston (who had played on The Beatles’ Let It Be sessions) gave the 1995 band a particularly strong Beatles connection. Preston had also appeared on the first All-Starr Band tour in 1989.
