Hamish Stuart was the bassist and vocalist of the Average White Band, known for 'Pick Up the Pieces' (1974) and 'Cut the Cake' (1975), and had previously played with Paul McCartney on the 1989–1993 world tours. Gregg Bissonette was appearing in his fourth consecutive All-Starr Band tour.
