On 22nd February 1967, The Beatles returned to Studio Two at EMI Studios, Abbey Road, for one of the most famous and technically ambitious sessions in their career. Running from 7.30 pm until 3.45 am, this session saw the final pieces of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band's masterpiece "A Day In The Life" come together, along with experiments that would remain in the EMI vaults.

This marathon session followed the initial recording on 19th January, the orchestral recording on 10th February, and mono mixing on 13th February. It would be completed the following night on 23rd February.
