The first Star-Club residency ran from 13 April to 31 May 1962, with only one night off during the period (Good Friday, 20 April). The engagement totalled approximately 172 hours of live performance. The Beatles departed Hamburg shortly after completing the residency, leaving on 2 June 1962.
