On 10 August 1961, The Beatles performed at St John's Hall on Snaefell Avenue in Tuebrook, Liverpool. This was their seventh performance at the venue. The hall was run on some nights by Mona Best, mother of Beatles drummer Pete Best and owner of the Casbah Coffee Club in West Derby — one of the earliest venues to host The Beatles regularly.

St John's Hall in Tuebrook should not be confused with a hall of the same name in Bootle, where The Beatles also performed on separate occasions.

St John's Hall, Tuebrook

St John's Hall on Snaefell Avenue was one of several Liverpool halls used for dances and live music in the early 1960s. Mona Best's involvement connected it directly to The Beatles' inner circle — the Casbah Coffee Club, which she ran in the cellar of her home at 8 Hayman's Green, West Derby, had been one of the first venues to give The Beatles a regular booking, from August 1959.

Pete Best had joined The Beatles in August 1960 for their first Hamburg engagement, and remained their drummer through the Cavern years. His mother's role in promoting local shows was part of the tight-knit network of venues, promoters and families that sustained the Liverpool beat scene in this period.
