The Beatles live: NME Poll-Winners' All-Star Concert, Wembley
Sunday 26 April 1964 | Live, Film and video
The Beatles topped the bill at the NME 1963–64 Poll-Winners' All-Star Concert at the Empire Pool, Wembley, on 26 April 1964, playing to around 10,000 fans.
It was their return to live performance after a 15-week break — a gap largely occupied by the filming of A Hard Day's Night, which had wrapped just two days earlier on 24 April 1964.
Their five-song set included She Loves You, You Can't Do That, Twist And Shout, Long Tall Sally, and Can't Buy Me Love. The event was filmed by ABC Television and broadcast as part of Big Beat '64.
