Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band performed at WE Fest, held at the Soo Pass Ranch in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, USA, on 10 August 2003. It was the 15th show by the eighth All-Starr Band, whose North American tour ran for 35 dates between July and September 2003.

The eighth All-Starr Band

Ringo Starr (vocals, drums, percussion) was joined by:

Colin Hay (vocals, guitar) — Scottish-born Australian singer-songwriter and co-founder of Men at Work, whose 1981 debut album Business as Usual reached number one in Australia, the UK and the US. Their singles ‘Down Under’, ‘Who Can It Be Now?’ and ‘Overkill’ became global hits. Hay pursued a successful solo career after Men at Work disbanded in 1985, and gained a new generation of fans through a memorable appearance on the US TV series Scrubs.

Paul Carrack (vocals, guitar, keyboards) — British singer and keyboardist who sang lead on Ace’s ‘How Long’ (1974), Squeeze’s ‘Tempted’ (1981), and Mike + The Mechanics’ ‘The Living Years’ (1988) — three of the most recognisable songs of their respective eras. He also had a long association with Paul McCartney, touring with him as a keyboardist.

John Waite (vocals, bass guitar, guitar) — British singer best known for his 1984 US number one ‘Missing You’ and as the lead vocalist of The Babys and Bad English. ‘Isn’t It Time’ was a 1977 hit for The Babys; ‘When I See You Smile’ was a number one for Bad English in 1989.

Mark Rivera (vocals, saxophone, percussion, guitar, bass, harmonica, flute) — a veteran of Billy Joel’s touring band and a regular All-Starr Band member across multiple tours.

Sheila E (vocals, drums, percussion) — percussionist and singer best known for her 1984 hit ‘The Glamorous Life’ and her close association with Prince.
