Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band live: Venetian Theatre, Las Vegas – 25 May 2024
Saturday 25 May 2024 | Live, Ringo Starr
Venetian Theatre, The Venetian Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band performed at the Venetian Theatre in Las Vegas on 25 May 2024 — the third show of the 15th All-Starr Band's 2024 tour, and the second of six non-consecutive nights at the venue. Edgar Winter did not perform at this show due to Covid-19, reducing the band to six performers for the evening.
The Venetian Theatre
The Venetian Theatre is a 1,815-capacity concert venue within The Venetian Resort on the Las Vegas Strip. It has become one of Ringo Starr's preferred Las Vegas venues in recent years — he performed there on 24, 26, and 27 May 2023, returned for the 2024 run of six nights, and came back again for dates on 17, 19, 20, 24, 26, and 27 September 2025. The intimate scale of the Venetian Theatre — considerably smaller than the arenas and amphitheatres on the rest of the tour — gives the All-Starr Band shows there a more club-like atmosphere.
The 15th All-Starr Band
- Ringo Starr — vocals, drums, percussion
- Steve Lukather — vocals, guitar, bass guitar. Co-founder and lead guitarist of Toto, whose 'Rosanna' and 'Africa' are among the most recognisable rock songs of the 1980s. Lukather is also one of the most prolific session guitarists in the history of recorded music, appearing on thousands of albums across five decades, including Michael Jackson's Thriller.
- Colin Hay — vocals, guitar. Lead singer and co-founder of Men at Work, the Australian group whose 'Down Under' reached number one in the UK, US, and Australia in 1981–82. Hay has maintained a successful solo career since Men at Work disbanded, and his song 'Overkill' — originally a Men at Work track — gained a new generation of listeners through its use in the television series Scrubs.
- Edgar Winter — vocals, keyboards, saxophone. American rock musician best known for the Edgar Winter Group and the instrumental hit 'Frankenstein' (1973). Absent from this show due to Covid-19.
- Hamish Stuart — vocals, bass guitar, guitar. Co-founder and vocalist of Average White Band, the Scottish funk group whose 'Pick Up The Pieces' and 'Cut The Cake' were major US hits in the mid-1970s. Stuart has been a regular All-Starr Band member across multiple tours.
- Warren Ham — vocals, saxophone, harmonica, flute, percussion, keyboards. A multi-instrumentalist and long-standing member of the All-Starr Band touring ensemble.
- Gregg Bissonette — vocals, drums, trumpet. A highly regarded session and touring drummer who has played with David Lee Roth, Joe Satriani, and many others. His presence alongside Ringo gives the All-Starr Band two drummers — a luxury that allows Ringo to step out from behind the kit and perform at the front of the stage.

The absence of Edgar Winter meant that his usual spotlight songs were dropped from the set. The closing sequence of 'Photograph', 'With A Little Help From My Friends', and 'Give Peace A Chance' — the All-Starr Band's invariable finale — brought together three of the most significant songs in Ringo's post-Beatles catalogue: the 1973 number one co-written with George Harrison, the song he sang on Sgt. Pepper, and the anthem recorded at the Montreal bed-in in June 1969.
'Matchbox' — the Carl Perkins rockabilly song that Ringo sang on Long Tall Sally (1964) — opened the show, a reminder of the group's roots in American rock and roll. 'I'm The Greatest' — written by John Lennon specifically for Ringo and recorded for the Ringo album in 1973 — remained a regular feature, as did 'Boys', which Ringo had sung on Please Please Me in 1963.
Edgar Winter
Edgar Winter (born 1946) is an American rock musician from Beaumont, Texas, best known for the Edgar Winter Group and the 1973 instrumental hit 'Frankenstein' — one of the first rock songs to make prominent use of a synthesiser. Winter is also a multi-instrumentalist of considerable range, playing keyboards, saxophone, and guitar. His absence from the 25 May show due to Covid-19 was a reminder of the logistical challenges of touring at scale, particularly for artists of Ringo's generation.
