Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band performed at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Thursday 13 July 1995. It was the 20th show of the third All-Starr Band’s 50-date tour of Japan and North America, which ran from June to August 1995. E Street Band drummer Max Weinberg joined the band for the encore.

The show

Radio City Music Hall — the Art Deco landmark on Sixth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan — was one of the most prestigious venues on the 1995 All-Starr Band tour. Ringo had previously performed there on 19 and 20 June 1992 with the second All-Starr Band. He would return to Radio City on 29 July 2003, 20 July 2006, 24 June 2008, 7 July 2010, 13 September 2018, 25 September 2024, and 13 June 2025.

The show was notable for the appearance of Max Weinberg — drummer with Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band and bandleader on Late Night with Conan O’Brien — who joined the band for the encore.

Billy Preston (1946–2006) was the ‘Fifth Beatle’ — the keyboard player who appeared on Let It Be and whose presence helped ease tensions during the Get Back sessions. He also played on ‘Get Back’ and ‘Don’t Let Me Down’. He died in June 2006.

John Entwistle (1944–2002) was the bassist and co-founder of The Who, widely regarded as one of the greatest rock bassists of all time. He died in Las Vegas in June 2002, the night before The Who were due to begin a North American tour.

Randy Bachman was the guitarist and co-founder of The Guess Who and Bachman-Turner Overdrive, known for ‘American Woman’ and ‘Takin’ Care Of Business’. Mark Farner was the lead singer and guitarist of Grand Funk Railroad. Felix Cavaliere was the lead singer and organist of The Rascals (‘Good Lovin’’, ‘Groovin’’). Zak Starkey is Ringo’s son, who later became the drummer for The Who.
