The Beatles Reunite at Apple Corps, Savile Row
On 20th January 1969, The Beatles met at Apple Corps’ basement studio on Savile Row for Day 11 of the Get Back / Let It Be sessions. This session marked a significant reunion, as it was the first time all four Beatles played together since George Harrison temporarily walked out of the sessions ten days earlier.
With no film crew allowed, the day was focused on rehearsing, catching up, and easing back into their music, using Apple Studio’s newly installed recording equipment, borrowed from EMI.
A Quietly Historic Day
While no audio or film exists from this day, its importance is evident the following day when George Harrison plays a guitar figure and asks John Lennon, “Remember that thing we did?” — to which Lennon replies, “Yesterday?”
This small exchange hints at the creative reconnection happening during these pivotal sessions.
📸 Photos Capture the Beatles Arriving
Though cameras weren’t allowed inside the studio, photographers captured rare images of John, Paul, George, and Ringo arriving individually at Apple Corps. These photos are some of the most evocative visual records of a pivotal moment in Beatles history.
