On This Day in Beatles History: Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band Live in Boise – 11 March 1999
On Thursday 11 March 1999, Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band performed at the Bank of America Centre in Boise, Idaho, during the band’s 1999 North American tour.
The show was the 18th performance of the tour and part of a 30-date US run that took place throughout February and March 1999. The tour featured the fifth incarnation of Ringo Starr’s All-Starr Band, a rotating supergroup format that brings together well-known musicians from major rock acts to perform both their own hits and songs associated with Starr.
The All-Starr Band concept had begun in 1989, when Ringo Starr assembled a touring lineup of celebrated musicians to accompany him on stage. By the late 1990s, the project had become a regular touring vehicle for the former Beatle.
