About Magical Mystery Tour
Conceived by Paul McCartney and inspired by Ken Kesey's Merry Pranksters bus tours, Magical Mystery Tour followed a group of passengers on a surreal coach journey through the English countryside. The film was broadcast on BBC One on Boxing Day 1967 ā in black and white, which robbed it of much of its psychedelic impact ā and received a famously mixed critical reception.
But the music was undeniable. "I Am the Walrus", "The Fool on the Hill", "Penny Lane", "Strawberry Fields Forever", "Hello, Goodbye" ā the US album version of Magical Mystery Tour contains some of The Beatles' most beloved songs. It is, by any measure, a psychedelic masterpiece.

The Legacy of Magical Mystery Tour
Initially dismissed by critics, Magical Mystery Tour has grown in stature enormously over the decades.
